On 15 and 16 October WP3 is organizing a first meeting preparing the setup of a European Mentoring Network. Representatives of selected organizations in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany will meet in Amsterdam to talk about further steps to be taken and a possible structure for the self-administration of such a network. The meeting will be hosted by N-Point, a roof-organization for the very diverse and large mentor project scene in the Netherlands.
On the way are initiatives by SIRIUS partners in Lithuania, Italy and Belgium to map existing projects or concepts for mentoring and other extra-curricular support measure for children from immigrant families in their countries respectively. These mappings will be the basis for, on the one side, the European mentoring-brochure (if there are interesting initiatives going on) and, on the other, the planning of dissemination activities of good practice-examples in the Netherlands and Germany to these countries. The mapping documents are expected by beginning of October.
